Shea Butter - A True All Rounder

This West African beauty staple is a key ingredient in many Kanobe products, from the Rich Cocoa Body Butter, to the gentle Coconut Milk & Shea Butter Soap. It's a very worthy ingredient for the first Kanobe blog post and should be a part of everyone's skin routine!

Shea butter is extracted from the shea nut and has traditionally been used to moisturise the skin, hair and is even used in food preparation. This nutrient-rich butter is a natural source of vitamins (particularly A and E) and antioxidants that nourish the skin and support skin regeneration. Because of these properties, shea butter is known to smooth the appearance of stretchmarks and soothe irritation caused by eczema, psoriasis and other skin conditions.

Despite its rich texture, shea butter is non-comodogenic (it does not block pores!) and this makes it a wonderful ingredient for both the face and body. Shea butter even offers some natural sun protection - a true all-rounder!

Kanobe only uses certified fairtrade, organic shea butter from Baraka Impact, which works with communities of women in Northern Ghana who extract shea in the traditional method passed down for generations. The quality is incredible and you can tell it has been made with a lot of care.
